Important Reminders!

  • Banana Leaves need healthy leaves to produce fruit. Plants infected with Banana Freckle have short lifespans reducing and affecting how much fruit your plant can produce.

  • Banana Freckle makes your banana leaves look wilted and looks like small dark brown spots forming on leaves and fruit.

  • Do not remove these plants to a different location or move the plant on your own. There is a high chance that you are spreading this disease even further by removing it. Please wait for the Banana Freckle Response team to go over and work with them appropriately.

  • Banana Freckle has not been established in Australia YET, there is no way to stop this disease from destroying all plants once it has been established. That is why it is important to remove them all NOW before its too late!

If you see symptoms of this disease please call and report as soon as you can on (08) 8999 2136 or via email on BananaFreckle.NT@nt.gov.au
